About the Artist:


Elizabeth Castellano graduated with a BFA and an MAT from Manhattanville College. Her BFA is in studio art with an emphasis on painting. Ms. Castellano took a leave of absence from Manhattanville to study art abroad at Lancaster University in England. While at Lancaster University, Ms. Castellano studied painting, printmaking, and photography.

During her undergraduate study, Ms. Castellano had a minor in art history. For this minor, Ms. Castellano was fortunate to travel to Florence, Italy to complete intense coursework. She received her BFA in May of 1999.

Ms. Castellano completed her Masters program early in January of 2000 and received her MAT in art education. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude and Art Department Honors.

Ms. Castellano has been a part of many solo and group shows. She has artwork in both private and public collections. Ms. Castellano is proficient in portraiture, photography and printmaking. She creates artwork on commission and gives private lessons.

Elizabeth Castellano is a middle school art teacher at IS 218 in New York City. She teaches a variety of projects with her students including lessons on the elements of art, still life, gesture drawing, collage and portraits.

In the past, Ms. Castellano was an adjunct professor at Manhattanville College where she taught art education courses. She also taught junior high school art in Rockaway Beach, Queens and elementary school in Harlem.

When Elizabeth is not teaching, she can be found painting in studio located in Putnam County.
